With the inclusion of Intel chips in the latest generation of Macintosh computers from Apple, it may make the efforts of online poker rooms and online casinos moot. When online gaming became popular years ago, Mac users cried out for support, as mostly the online gaming businesses were for PC only. In the last year or so these online rooms have listened to the Mac users, coming up with no download, Flash and Java based applications that allow any user with an Internet connection to play.
Now that the Macs can boot Windows, however, even Mac users can download and run the standard software. Does this mean that the efforts of poker rooms like Pacific Poker have been in vain? Not necessarily, as many Mac users are either unable to afford or unwilling to use the Windows operating system required.
