Here's a little bit of business news heard through the grapevine: Atlantis Internet Group Corp. is signing a contract with a number of Motown legends in order to create a new, themed online casino known as the Motown Legends Casino. The site will be launched officially on the same day as the Super Bowl (February 5, 2006) and will feature songs and likenesses of artists such as the Four Tops and the Miracles.
One of the most exciting features of the upcoming Motown Legends Casino is the "jukebox slots," which are slot machines that allow you to listen to music while you play the slot machine. Not only will these be a staple of the online site, but there are also land-based versions coming to a casino near you.
The online casino will serve as a vessel for displaying and featuring the games that are using the likenesses of the Motown superstars. For younger readers, Motown was a record company started by Barry Gordy in 1959. The label gained popularity with famous artists such as The Miracles, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and the Supremes, along with a myriad of other influential artists who would change the face of music for years to come. The artists of the label were often recognized by a gospel-influenced sound to the music, and in time the Motown label would become synonymous with R&B.
While the games have yet to be played, at least we know that the music will be good.
